A Bench insider revealed that the products Alden and Maine are endorsing were soldout even before the launch took place that afternoon. Just three hours after the mall opened, they were assured that they had a delivery that would last for a month, but as it turned out, everything was disposed of entirely.
Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza are the latest addition to the long list of Bench celebrity endorsers, and they made it with a resounding Bang! last Wednesday afternoon at the Trinoma Activity Center. Indeed, it was the biggest crowd gathered in a mall as the hottest love team In this side of showbiz launched their respective line. Alden for Clay Doh’s new variant Clay Doh Lite, while Maine endorsed a new line of scent with her name on it.
The crowd was estimated to be ten thousand, all of them lining up to the top floors of the mall and security personnel were everywhere in the area. We still remember last year, the same clothing company made a mark when they had Daniel Padilla in the same venue endorsing the same product Alden is endorsing now. And it seemed that they have broken their own record. “Let’s wait for the next event,” said Bench marketing executive Jojo Diamson.
We also had a chat with Mr. Ben Chan, the top honcho of the brand, who was very accommodating and always have a ready smile for everyone, especially to the members of the press. He admitted that it’s worth the long wait for Alden and Maine to be free from their hectic schedules because the launch event turned out to the biggest and much attended.
“Matagal na kami nagkaroon ng negotiation pero hindi naman kami nahirapan. Mahirap lang because matagal. They are busy, hindi naman sila maarte, busy lang sila pero ‘yang tagal na ‘yan ay naging okay kasi we were trying to have an event na tama lang tulad ng nakaraan naming event, pero mas maganda ang nangyari,” he shared.
Everything went very orderly until the end of the show, but for the press, some were disappointed because it was a ‘no-no’ for Alden and Maine to be interviewed after the show as ordered allegedly by the management. But lucky me, I joined Lhar Santiago in his few seconds ‘tsikahan’ with the pair while seated in a long table for the greet and sign portion.
It was confirmed by Alden that they are now preparing something different for their coming first anniversary celebration with Maine. “So far, kahit kami nang narinig namin ito, sobra kaming excited. Never before seen na ginawa namin kasi lahat po ng ginagawa namin ay something na hindi pa nagagawa ng Aldub together. This is something different po and I’m sure this will be the best anniversary we will give to our supporters po,” revealed the actor. “Kaya abangan nalang po “yan, very excited,” Maine quipped.
