“It doesn’t matter to me even if I’m just a replacement. Kahit na pang 100 pa ako sa list I don’t care, what is important ako pa rin ang gumawa ng movie.”

It is good to know that award-winning actor Cesar Montano is back in doing action films, particularly his latest flick, Nilalang, an entry in the coming Metro Manila Film Festival this December. Produced by We Love Post (WLP), a post-production house, with Haunted Tower Pictures and Paralux Studios, and will be distributed by Viva Films, it is written and directed by sought-after commercial director, Pedring Lopez.

Excited of his new project, Cesar was all smiles when he met the press last night, along with his leading lady, Japanese adult video (AV) actress, the beautiful Maria Ozawa. “I’m so amazed with this movie because I didn’t expect that it is this good. And I’m so thankful that it was offered to me,” Cesar shared. “Naninibago ako in the sense that I’m working with a new director, ibang soul and spirit. I’m full of excitement and I’m greatly challenged with the movie.

“I also hope that with this movie, the interest of the people to watch action-suspense movies will come back. This can only prove that we Filipinos are indeed talented and that we can make films at par with the foreign movies.”

Cesar ialso claims that he’s so happy working with the Japanese actress who he described as very professional and patient. “Hindi s’ya mareklamo na artista at talagang willing s’yang mag antay kung ano ang ipinapagawa sa kanya,” he insisted. He even revealed that he had already invited her to go to Bohol. “I guess if she can visit my province, she can invite her friends in Japan and spread to possible tourists that Bohol is beautiful, that it is a safe place and no kidnapping incidents,” he stressed with a smile.

On the lighter side, Cesar admitted that he is happy with his son, Diego, with his showbiz career. “I’m so proud with my son and I love him,” he said. “He is doing very good.” Cesar also said that he already gave him a car and for the moment he lives in one of his houses. “But he plans to buy his own house soon,” he shared. However, when he was asked about his relationship with his three daughters (with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz), his face turned sad. He begged not to talk about it because of the ongoing legal proceeding. “Matagal ko na silang hindi nakakausap, and I missed them so much and I love them more than my life,” he emphasized.

With the election fever now heating up, Cesar insisted that he has no plans of running in the coming election. But he revealed that there are people trying to convince him to give it another try. “Actually, they want me to run as a party list representative. But I think it is impossible right now. I want to concentrate for first with my movie career, especially with this movie. And after this, sometime in January, I have to leave the country for my next international film. So, it is not eally possible for me to run in any elected position.” The producer of the said international project is the same group who produced his first international movie The Great Raid (2005).

Aside from Cesar and Maria, also part of the cast are Meg Imperial, Yam Concepcion, Pocholo Barretto, Kiko Matos, Dido Dela Paz and Aubrey Miles in a cameo role as the wife of Cesar. Actor Troy Montero is also one of the producers as part of WLP.
