EXCLUSIVE! Designer Edwin Uy Clarifies the Issue on Myrtle Sarossa’s Star Magic Ball Gown…
(Here is Edwin Uy’s official and exclusive statement…)
This in connection with Myrtle Sarossa’s gown in the last Star Magic Ball. An error has been made in the labeling of my creation. It came out in the media tagged with a different designer’s name.
“I first saw the gown in Rappler with another designer’s name. I had to post it on Facebook as I have no idea how to tell people from Rappler that the gown was my creation. I didn’t know that a friend of a certain designer saw the post and made a sarcastic statement that my creation was too simple for such a big event and his designer friend who was mislabeled as the designer of my creation would not make such a simple gown for a grand gathering of stars.”
“Having done it so sarcastically, with matching laughter at his statement, has made me decide to write a post regarding this. Posting the picture of my creation and telling them that they should not be sarcastic in saying that my gown was too simple. I even explained that we are all designers and should learn to respect and help each other.”
“This is the only way our fashion industry would grow, being united. Surprisingly, I got terrific response from people reaching more than a thousand likes for the picture of my creation, and with more than 100 positive comments. I think that (certain) designer made some more posts against me that I never bothered to check anymore. I find it to be a waste of time if I still continue to pursue the issue.”
“I believe that silence is the best answer, and we just pray for people who wish negatively about us. Regarding the issue, Myrtle (Sarossa) talked to me and was very apologetic of what happened. I just learned that the designer who was wrongly labeled on my gown was supposed to do her gown. But she insisted that I make her gown as she really likes me, my style, and my creations. I told her that it was not her fault, and she has nothing to worry about it.”
