Garie vs. Tori: The Battle of Upcoming Divas
Not just like any ordinary newbies in the block. The moment they hit their notes, you will surely be mesmerized with their refreshing candor and pure beauty. Nothing else could come in between….only their music.
Come Tuesday, March 21, all roads will lead to Historia Bar(#5 Esguerra St., near GMA 7), to witness the battle of two beautiful young and talented ladies, Garie Concepcion and Tori Garcia, in one show called “Killing Me Softly…with Your Love,” at 8 P.M. It will be the first time that this two talented girls will be seen on stage doing what they can do best….singing.
As the daughter of Grace Ibuna and Gabby Concepcion, and the younger sister of KC Concepcion, Garie believes that making a name of her own in the industry is not far-fetched because she is confident of her voice and her ability to make people appreciate her talent. She can easily belt out and reach for the high notes. As the girlfriend of the handsome singer-recording artist and alumni of Your Face Sounds Familiar, Michael Pangilinan, she just announced that their relationship is getting stronger. Contrary to the rumor circulating around that they already broke up, the young chanteuse claimed that they will be celebrating their anniversary together soon.
“Okay naman po kami. Siguro lang, kaya may ganyang balita ay dahil hindi kami masyadong nakikitang magkasama lately ni Michael. Pero okay kami. Actually malapit na nga kaming mag-one year,” said the pretty singer-actress. “Busy kasi siya at busy rin ako. Pero madalas naman kaming nagtatawagan. Pero ang mahalaga rin kasi po, iyong quality time. Saka siyempre po priorities po namin yun work talaga.”
“I really have no idea where the rumor came from,” she added with a smile. “Actually po nagulat din po ako na may isyung ganito.” For now, Garie is busy finishing the movie Ang GuroKong ‘Di Marunong Magbasa with Alfred Vargas in the lead role, and directed by Perry Escaño.
On the other hand, Tori Garcia, known as the “Singaporean Sweetheart”and former TV co-host, is also part of the concert with Garie. In just more than a year in the business, she is happy the way her career is going. She’s also part of the movie Ang Gurong Di Marunong Magbasa, an entry in the coming Cinemalaya 2017.
A month ago, Tori just finished the movie Kamandag ng Droga under Direk Carlo J. Caparas and produced by the late Donna Villa, with Niño Muhlach in the lead. And any time this month, she will start shooting the movie Live in Manila, under an international film outfit, tackling the lifestory of a dancer.
To perk up the mood of the night, and completing the lineup of performers is a promising band called Altitude.7, composed of young and good looking members, namely, Richmond Ramos (drummer), Kevin Saribong (Vocalist), Alex Sanao (guitar), Mark Manela (pianist), and Ranyle Ramos (bassist).
Altitude.7 started as one of the Top 10 finalists during the AlDub songwriting contest. With their debut album now out under Warner Music Philippines, the carrier single “Di Mo Lang Alam” is fast becoming a favorite tune on MYPH.com. It is also available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes and Deezer.
The boys are also busy in other regular gigs and campus tours, not to forget the various bar and mall tours. And hopefully within the year, they will be releasing their second album.
Produced by TJC Entertainment Productions, LA Santos will also be joining the show, with other guests like Erika Mae Salas, PualineCueto, Kikay at Mikay, Sarah Ortega, Rayantha Leigh, and Eumir Rader. The show is also supported by Throycath Travel and Tours agency, TEAM, and Mesa Restaurant. For ticket inquiry call/text 0915-8507388/ 02-5031309.
