It’s Showtime’s Anniversary…Bow!

“Hindi umiikot ang puwet ko dahil kay Alden Richards at Maine Mendoza. Hindi komedyante ang AlDub. Sila lang naman ang nabo-bother at nag-iisip ng kung anu-ano.” – Vice Ganda says in a recent interview.
It has been six years since they first broadcasted, October 24, 2009 to be exact. From being a second fiddle musical, novelty noon time variety show, it’s main objective was for Filipinos to strut and show their unique talents. This former baby by director Boboy Vidanes, It’s Showtime is now Eat Bulaga’s formidable foe and fiercest TV opponent.
As the curtains of the Big Dome will rise tomorrow (Saturday), and welcome the hordes of “madlang pipol,” diehards, fanatics and loyalists, the hosts of the show are in for star fire hot treats!
Back to back appearances of a quartet of ”Kapamilya” love teams that guarantee saccharine overload and seeming orgasmic shrieks and shouts.
Leading the pack of reel and real sweethearts are Teen King and Teen Queen Daniel Padilla & Kathryn Bernardo.
Also making an appearance are the hopefully sober Enrique Gil at and his devastatingly beautiful prop, the winsome Liza Soberano
. To add more “Punch and Judy” elements are the refreshing tandem of James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
And completing the quartet are the ever reliable KimXi, composed of China Doll Kim Chiu and the fashion forward Xian Lim.
Also part of the lineup of guests are Kris Aquino, Coco Martin, Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion, Angelica Panganiban, and the hotties and hotness of Pasion de Amor, namely, Jake Cuenca and Arci Muñoz, Ejay Falcon and Ellen Adarna, Joseph Marco and Coleen Garcia.
The power of electric youth is under the care of PBB Teens Big 4. Competent and credible acting finds Julia Montes and Edgar Allan Guzman to represent Doble Kara.
Marco Masa ang the other child stars of the recently concluded Nathaniel will give their final hellos, and yes, Vina Morales, Richard Yap and Christian Vazquez, lead stars of Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita? are also present.
People may consider this anniversary special as a blitzkrieg, as they were able to assemble some of their network’s biggest talents.
Indeed, this high octane noontime variety offensive is led by Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang and Billy Crawford. And adding wallops of women power are Anne Curtis, Coleen Garcia and Karylle. Kuya Kim Atienza is the one pulling the strings, and orchestrating the onslaught is resident she-male and Queen Bee, Vice Ganda.
They have bolted together, with a piercing battle cry … this is how we do it, and this is war! With stellar line up, plus the annual production number competition amongst the hosts the show, audiences, without any doubt, must be ready for the spectacular, spectacular.
There are also reports that supporters of the “Kapamilya” love teams and the rest of the Showtime minions will prove that there is strength and power in numbers as they aim to out-tweet the 12 million tweets earned by the AlDub love team a week ago.
Never has there been a TV battle like this. It is of biblical, epic and historic proportions.
We, at glitter.ph hope that they will be able to pull off this shindig. May all the participants and members of It’s Showtime be gracious under pressure. May they not be bothered by their lackluster, if not dismal ratings of late.
You will and must do everything to prove to the adoring public that IT’S YOUR SHOW, AND IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE AND DAZZLE US ALL.
Thus, one cannot help but wonder, if the It’s Showtime anniversary transpires a month earlier than its initial broadcast date, what moved them to do this? The answer to this question, as they say, is just blowing in the wind!
