“I make him feel he’s the only man in my life right now and he knows that Marc is just part of my past.”

Sexy actress-turned mom Patricia Javier just launched her Christmas single titled “Ngayong Paskong Ito” yesterday (November 30). The wife of Dr. Rob Walcher, a chiropractor, and mother of two boys, said, “It has been my dream to record an album which I will release sometime next year.

Why a sad song for Christmas? “We Filipinos are so sentimental, but if you listen to the song, it also speaks of longing for someone you love. Bagay ang song sa mga OFWs. The idea of the song is pag Christmas, dumarating yung mga loved ones mo sa malayo kaya positive pa rin kahit malungkot ang kanta,” said Patricia.

She also did a music video for “Ngayong Paskong Ito” with ex-boyfriend Marc Nelson as her leading man. But her husband didn’t get jealous. Marc was at their wedding and was the ninong of their son. According to Dr. Rob, Marc’s participation in the video will make the people more curious about the song.

“Rob feels secure about me,” said Patricia. To prove how much her husband loves her, Patricia was able to convince him to come to Manila last year together with their kids, and so far he’s enjoying his stay in the country.

“I have very good convincing power,” she added. When asked how she was able to make Dr. Rob agree to relocate to Manila. “We’ve talked about it for a long time. It was perfect timing when he decided to close his clinic in the US. Since he was not doing anything, I told him why not we go home to the Philippines so he can experience the kind of lifestyle here in our country.

“Staying in America requires us to maintain a high standard of living. It is really expensive so even if my husband earns a good income it seems it just go to our expenses. I told him that he might find it a good idea to practice chiropractor in the Philippines kasi baka konti pa lang ang katulad niyang doctor dito sa atin. Through him, more people will get to learn more about a chiropractor,” she explained.

And how is he adjusting to our country after one year? “He can only say wow! Of course, he is still adjusting. It’s been a roller-coaster ride for him. It is not easy but he is able to adapt. I told him just embrace it,” she said.

Patricia and Dr. Rob are celebrating their 10th anniversary on December 27. How has married life been?

“Siyempre hindi naman lahat okay,” she insisted. “Ang buhay may-asawa naman ay may ups and downs. Sa aming dalawa naman, ang kagandahan sa amin, pag galit ang asawa ko, hindi ako sumasabay sa kanya. Kahit masasakit ang sabihin niya, okay lang. Stop muna ako. Pag hindi na siya galit doon naman ako hihirit.”

What usually causes their  misunderstanding? “Language barrier,” she replied. “Minsan may sinasabi ako na he tends to take it differently pero hindi naman iyon ang ibig kong sabihin. Minsan gusto niya ng privacy, na kami lang.Eeh ang laki ng family ko so parang lahat dapat kasama ko parati. Gusto niya sana kami-kami lang.Pwede ba tayo lang naman.  But he is getting the hang of it.”

When Patricia returned home last year, part of her plan was to revive her acting career. “Once you’ve been exposed to showbiz, you will always have it in you the desire to act or to sing. I told myself that even if there are many young stars today, there might be a place for someone in my age bracket,” said Patricia.

Come January, she will release an extended play album titled “Patricia Javier: Reinvented” with six original songs written by Larry Hermoso and one by Cristine Bendebel.

“Mga pang-emote ang mga songs. Those who love senti songs will like the album. I am very thankful to my composer Larry Hermoso because he gave me really good compositions,” she said.

What is your favorite song in the album? “It’s titled “Mahal na Mahal Kita” kasi handog sa mga martir sa pag-ibig. Ang mga Pinoy kasi, kahit na nasasaktan na, nagmamahal pa rin nang todo-todo, walang preno. Ganoon din ako magmahal pero siyempre minsan nauubos din ang pasensiya ko,” she remarked.

“I am excited to promote the album since it is for a good cause. Whatever it is that we will earn from the album sales, we will use it for our wellness project.”
