Multi-awarded actor Roeder Camanag, of Artist Playground, has successfully captures the audience with his second offering this season, Tag- Ani, a 40-minute play based on the story written by Amelia Lapena Bonifacio, as part of the trilogy Tatalong Dula ng Pag-Ibig. Held at 1701 The Little Room, along Mother Ignacia Avenue, in Quezon City, the play aims to give tribute to veteran actors.
The play stars familiar faces on TV and in theater, Ces Aldaba and Ermie Concepcion. It is their first lead role in a play. It is an endearing love story of two people in their twilight years, but what interesting on this is how this two veteran actors act like youngsters ala Kathniel or Aldub, and prove to us that “Kilig” can still be felt at no age you are.
Camanag says that the said play was staged by young cast before, but were acting like oldies. And this is the first time he use senior actors to give justice to the said beautiful story of Bonifacio that was first staged wayback 1975. He admits that it’s really more fun directing veteran actors especially for Tag-Ani.
Artist Playground is trying to break the norms of theater fever in the country by offering highly coveted short plays, they are planning this to do this every month as much as possible, the next in line is a one woman act play and a art exhibit this September.
But this tragic comedy tag-Ani, due to overwhelming success, will have re-runs on Sept 5 and 6, 3pm Matinee and 7pm evening show. For ticket reservation please contact 09773062924.
