Congratulations and hail to the new queen!
Former Eat Bulaga’s “Super SiReyna,” and the reigning Ms. Gay Manila, and the inspiration behind the much talked about and loved book that chronicled her love story with significant other, Art Sta. Ana, “He’s Dating The Transgender,” the lovely Trixie Maristela makes this beauty queen crazy country proud when she bagged the crown of Miss International Queen 2015 which was held Friday (last night) at Pattaya City, Thailand.
The Philippines’ bet, the beauteous, curvaceous and intelligent Maristela bested 27 other contestants around the world, with Miss Brazil, Valesca Dominik Ferraz and Miss Thailand, Sopida Siriwattananukoon, tailing as runners-up. She was crowned by last year’s winner, Isabella Santiago from Venezuela. Just like any prestigious international beauty contest, it has talent and swimsuit portions.
A graduate from the University of the Philippines, the 29-year-old winner received a prize money of 400,000 Thai baht (US$11,250) and the option to have a free cosmetic surgery in Bangkok.
Other transgender Filipinas Michelle Binas and Francine Garcia also landed in the highly-competitive top ten slot. Maristela is the second Filipina transgender to win the title after Kevin Balot in 2012.
