“Sana po respetuhin po natin ang anak ko may karapatan po siyang tumanda ng may tahimik at maayos na buhay.”
At the press conference of her latest movie, Viva Films newest offering, the remake of Angela Markado, Andi Eigenmann was all smiles talking about the much-awaited directorial comeback of Carlo J. Caparas. The said movie was originally done by Hilda Koronel and directed by the late Lino Brocka.
In an interview with Glitter.Ph, the lead star gladly said, “Ganitong mga klaseng trabaho ang gusto ko pong gawin. Dito ako nakakaramdam ng sense of fulfillment. This is the kind of projects na challenging and i would be able to force and think outside the box, and at the same time, it’s also nice that it gives me a sense of fulfillment and na ilalagay ko ang sarili ko sa proyekto.”
Since she’s excited with her new film, we asked her about her love life. She claimed, “I’m very happy kasi right now I can do things on my own, especially in making decisions. Sa ngayon kasi wala na pong magulang na magagalit, wala na din mag dedeny sa akin and this time i guess, I’m confident to answer those questions kasi it’s maayos and peaceful na.” And who is this lucky guy who makes her heart happier? “He’s not related in showbiz so parang medyo private na tao basta taga dito po s’ya at Filipino,” she smiled.
And how did they meet with this non-showbiz guy? “We have common friends,” she shared. “We have same interests. Surfer din s’ya kaya parehas kaming mahilig sa dagat. Of course, pinag-isipan ko po muna mabuti kasi i know di ako ready ayaw ko pa pero minsan malalaman mo pag nakilala mo yung tao na kahit di kapa ready mararamdaman mo nalang. Kaya I tried to know him better. Isa siya sa mga taong nakakatulong sa akin na maging masaya ngayon, and for once i can say we’re good friends.”
Ako din di pa kilala ng parents nya, but my mom trust me to do decision on my own. She’s very supportive. Ang sabi lang n’ya, ‘basta anak pag sigurado kana.’”
Recently, her daughter Ellie celebrated her birthday, and the young mother shared a little on how they celebrated it. “Simple lang, nagpakain lang kami sa school, with cake and balloons. Tapos we went to the mall and bought gifts for her. Then we had dinner at home with mom, Gita and Jake. Jake is part of the family and everything he will do basta para kay Ellie. Hindi n’ya pinababayaan si Ellie.”
What made Andi publicly admitted that Jake is the father of her daughter? “Basta ganun nalang. Just to make a long story short, si Jake ang daddy para yung ibang tao d’yan manahimik nalang, once and for all,” she stressed.
Andi was also asked on her reaction regarding an interview by an ABS-CBN reporter with Albie Casiño, when he was asked if it is true that he’s not the father of Ellie.
Is she mad at Albie? “Hindi po ako galit sa kanya. Pinatawad ko na po siya, pero naiinis lang po ako kasi konting common sense naman. Kasi wala naman akong sinabi. Kung merong questions like that, and I say that it’s not true! But I never say anything. I never drag his name (Albie Casiño) in anything at all,” she explained.
“The last time I was interviewed, I said that Jake is the father. And that will be the last time I’m going to talk about it, especially Albie is not part of my life anymore. At pagdating dito sa topic na ito, lumalaki na po ang anak ko. Alam ko po na artista ako at part siya ng job. But these people, wag na natin isama. Pakiusap, ako na lang.”
Now that Andi is happy with her life, she was asked if she see herself getting married soon. “I’m not really thinking about that yet at all. Gusto ko lang maging masaya. I just want a simple life. Madali lang po ako makuntento. I’m here in showbiz just to work. And at the end of the day, I’m only human. You know yung mga gusto kong gawin, sa ganda ng dagat natin, gusto ko lumangoy yung anak ko at kasama ko siya para masaya. And I have someone to share that passion,” she answered. She’s thankful to Jake because he supports her whatever makes her happy. Her movie Angela Markado will have a commercial run nationwide starting December 2.
