The movielandia, especially the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival was debunked with controversies. First, there was a ticket swapping brouhaha between My Pabebe Love and The Beauty and the Bestie on the first day of screening. Although MMFF officials vehemently denied the accusation. And may be because the film fest has becoming so commercialized, entries are fighting for the box-office top spot, especially between the said front runners.
Then, a day after the opening, the organizing committee issued a statement to Reality Entertainment, headed by Ronald Monteverde, the producer of Honor Thy Father, starring John Lloyd Cruz, that the movie is disqualified for the Best Picture category. And because of this the producer replied to the MMFF officials, accompanied by the statement from the Cinema One Originals Film Festival 2015 official. All statements are attached below for your better understanding and opinion.
