New Year Resolutions & Inspiring Quotes for 2016!
New Year is finally here! And as Oprah Winfrey said “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right!”
Indeed, one thing that cultures from all around the world can agree on is that this time of year is seen as a time for a new beginning, a fresh start, a blank page. It is the perfect time to make good resolutions that will make this year better than the last!
“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” ― Brad Paisley
So as 2016 starts, I encourage you to go down the “cheesy road” and write down your resolution! You might think you are too old for those silly resolution lists; but remember, as C.S. Lewis once said “you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”.
Thus, make some time for yourself and think about all the things you want for yourself in the year to come, think about what make you happy; and no matter how small, how big, how crazy you think it is, write it down! Because every goal, every dream is a valid one. As long as it will make you happy, you owe it to yourself to try and achieve it!
So write it down! It will officially help you set a goal to be achieved and help you elaborate a clear plan on how to achieve it. List down all the steps you need to take to turn those dreams of yours into reality. And last, but not the least, have the courage to take those steps! “Just do it!” LOL! Because the only distance between our dreams and reality is action.
Once you are done, put this list of 2016 Resolutions/Goals/Dreams up somewhere where you will see it often. It will help keep you focused on them all throughout the year.
And in case you are like most of the people on this planet (who realize on December 31st that they didn’t fulfill most of their resolutions from January), remember this quote by Cavett Robert: “Character is the ability to carry out a good resolution long after the excitement of the moment has passed”. I dare you to have some character this 2016!
“Let us make our future now and let us make today’s dream tomorrow’s reality” – Malala Yousafzai
